Are you someone who sets out with good intentions, but ends up demotivated? So often in fitness clubs, the focus is on those who are already reasonably fit. At Genesis siblings Tim and Philippa set out to create a welcoming environment to attract people who would not normally think of going to a gym as well as those wanting to keep healthy and fit. The Genesis team of trainers lead by Arthur share many years of experience in health and fitness, nutrition, cardiac rehabilitation, joint replacement rehabilitation, arthritis, back pain and many more medical issues.

Over 80% of genesis members are visiting a gym for the first time. Many of our members have been with us for over 10 years. Over 50% of our members have a specific medical condition that needs consideration for example diabetes, back and joint pain.

About Us

Tim and Philippa are a brother and sister team who share an immense passion for guiding people towards increased health & well being. In 1997, with two lifetimes of nationwide experience across the UK leisure industry, they felt ready to combine their expertise & set up on their own. However, Genesis was to become no ordinary fitness centre.

Both Tim & Philippa were so disillusioned with how the fitness industry promotes itself to the body beautiful end of the market. More often than not, a client becomes a fee-paying membership number surrounded by weights & mirrors & trainers who really don't care.

Life change can be incredibly overwhelming, intimidating & expensive, and so often people fall at the first hurdle.Genesis doesn't let you fall. Genesis recognises the importance of guiding & nurturing ordinary people every step of the way. Genesis means "a new beginning", you'll be encouraged to let go of your fears, to trust & be supported. The Genesis team gently empower you to find your inner strength & become the special, amazing person that you are.
